CHAT GPT, SIRI, AND ALEXA ARE OUT TO GET YOU

AI is coming for lawyers. Whether it’s Chat GPT, virtual assistants, or other new technology, lawyers are at risk. Join the CLE Performer Stuart Teicher, Esq., as he explores the never-ending problems with the hottest technologies. In this program, Mr. Teicher will:

  • Teach that Chat GPT is an Large Language Model, and explain what that means for lawyers (Competence, Rule 1.1)
  • Reveal the ethical hotspots like confidentiality, safeguarding client property, and supervision
  • Explore the problems with the “reasonable expectation of privacy” standard
  • Review what lawyers need to understand about deep fakes
  • Discuss the ethical issues with the metaverse (Rule 8.4)

    THE EVOLVING CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM: UPDATES, RULES, & REPRESENTATION
    Tuesday, July 8 - Thursday July 10, 2025 | 8:15 - 12:30 pm (each day)

    Day One
    Day one begins with a discussion of recent criminal law decisions in the Arizona appellate courts. The day will continue with a panel discussion on jury selection under the new rules, including some suggested best practices. After the break there will be a with a discussion of the issues involved in identifying and gathering DNA evidence; the analysis of DNA evidence; and presenting DNA results in court. The day will end a discussion on how to utilize NGOs and nonprofits as a criminal defense practitioner.

    Day Two
    Day two starts with a discussion of Rule 32/33 Post-Conviction Relief litigation. The day will continue with a discussion on how to make plea negotiations and settlement conferences more productive. After the break the discussion will turn to firearms identification testimony. The day will end with a discussion of expungement litigation including recent case law update and best practices.

    Day Three
    Day three starts with a criminal law legislative update. The discussion then turns to the trial practice pointers to present an effective case to the jury. After the break there will be a panel discussion of victim’s rights issues. The day and the conference will end with a discussion of the issues involved in fugitive from justice cases, including the extradition process and the uniform detainers act.
